WHY HEARTLAND?
God established Heartland to make joyful, mature disciples of Jesus in the Marysville area who maintain faithfulness to the Scriptures, are passionate worshippers, are faithful witnesses here and abroad, and have vibrant relationships with one another.
Faithful to the Scriptures: We believe the Scriptures should govern our beliefs and behaviors. We make significant efforts to ensure we rightly understand and apply God's Word in our preaching and Bible study contexts. We also seek to root our church and ministry decisions in Bible principles.
Passionate Worshippers: We believe God is worthy of genuine, heartfelt worship. Regular worship can degenerate into "going through the motions." We are intentional about ordering our worship so that it pleases God.
Faithful Witnesses: Jesus' final words to his disciples were that they should make disciples starting where they were and reaching around the world. We believe Jesus commands us the same way today. We are earnest about making disciples here in the Marysville area and use our resources and prayer to accomplish the same thing worldwide.
Vibrant Relationships: A vital characteristic of a follower of Jesus is love for the discipleship community. We do love and serve each other here. We believe God brings people into a local family and gifts the members to build and serve each other.
